This treatment combines Minoxidil 5%, Tretinoin 0.025–0.05%, and topical Finasteride 0.1% in a fast-absorbing, alcohol-free hydrogel, making it an effective option among hair growth treatments. 

It is designed to tackle hair loss at multiple levels: stimulating growth, improving absorption, and reducing scalp DHT levels (the hormone linked to pattern hair loss), which is particularly beneficial for those facing women's hair loss. 

How does it work?

Minoxidil increases blood flow to the scalp and stimulates hair follicles to enter the growth (anagen) phase. Tretinoin promotes scalp cell turnover and enhances minoxidil penetration. Finasteride reduces the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), helping to prevent miniaturisation of hair follicles and further hair loss. Together, this combination improves hair density, slows the progression of hair loss, and encourages long-term regrowth, all part of a personalized hair care approach. 

How do I apply it?

Apply once daily (preferably at night) to a clean, dry scalp. Use 0.5 - 1 mL (as advised) directly to the affected areas. Gently massage using clean fingertips. Avoid washing your hair for at least 4 hours after application. Wash hands thoroughly after use. 

When Will I See Results?

Weeks 1–4: You may experience some initial shedding – this is normal and temporary. 

Weeks 6–12: Early signs of regrowth may begin. 

Months 3–6: Noticeable improvement in hair texture, volume, and reduced shedding. 

Months 9–12: Optimal results typically reached with consistent daily use. 

What do I need to avoid?

Do not apply to broken, irritated, or inflamed skin. 

Do not use alcohol-based or harsh scalp products. 

Avoid getting the product in your eyes, mouth, or on facial skin. 

Avoid contact with pregnant or breastfeeding individuals – even through indirect transfer. 

Avoid abruptly stopping treatment – this may lead to reversal of progress. 

Are there any side effects?

Mild redness, dryness, or flaking of the scalp. 

Tingling or peeling due to Tretinoin. 

Increased sensitivity to sunlight – apply SPF to exposed areas. 

Rarely, systemic absorption of Finasteride may lead to: 

Low mood, anxiety, or depression. 

Reduced libido or sexual dysfunction. 

Breast tenderness or swelling. 

Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling). 

These effects are uncommon with topical use, but you should stop using the product and contact your OptiOptu clinician if you experience any mood changes, persistent side effects, or emotional distress. 

Can I use other hair products?

Yes. Please wait at least 30 minutes after applying this treatment before using oils, serums, or styling products. 

Can I style or colour my hair?

Yes, although we advise avoiding application on the same day as chemical treatments (e.g. colouring or perming). 

Will I need to use this forever?

Hair regrowth and maintenance require consistent application. Continued use is recommended to sustain results and prevent further hair loss.
